Jay’s Christmas Playlist 2005

It’s been a while. School’s been kicking my ass. Finals are coming up next week. Can’t wait to be done with this semester. I have 3 finals to go! After my computer crashed AGAIN yesterday I am fuming, but I have my wonderful girlfriend and my f’n amazing collection of Christmas songs to ease my sorrow. If you’re sick of hearing Mariah Carey’s All I want for Christmas is Poo, then here is my guide to Holiday Audio Enjoyment. With the YULE LOGS getting bigger and bigger with each passing day I figured I would mention a few Christmas songs that I HIGHLY recommend downloading these “podtastic” songs if you already don’t own them:

Things I Want by Sum 41 & Tenacious D
Christmas Is All Around Us – Love Actually soundtrack
Yellin’ At the Christmas Tree – Billy Idol
Back Door Santa – Bon Jovi
This Christmas – Christina Aguilera
I Wanna Rock You Hard This Christmas – The Dan Band (Old School)
Father Christmas – Lit
R2 D2 We Wish You A Merry Christmas – Meco
Oi To The World – NO DOUBT
Punk Rock Christmas – The Ravers
My Christmas List – Simple Plan
Rockin’ Christmas Time – 40 Foot Ringo
Mele Kalikimaka – Bing Crosby
Merry Christmas – Marvelous 3
Christmas Vacation – Mavis Staples
Merry Christmas Everybody – Rooney
Last Christmas – George Michael
The Phil Spector Album
Merry Christmas Baby – Springsteen
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow! – Dean Martin

it might be a little over plays but the best christmas song going.

how come kiss never came out with a christmas album or made a christmas song?

im surprised gene never covered that angle…hahahaha

  • Jay

That is sooo funny…even though they are Jewish…Gene would totally sell out and do a Christmas album. Hell…I wear my MERRY KISSMAS T-shirt EVERY Christmas without fail. I actually do have the Darkness’ Christmas song on my ipod and I like it…but I have to be in that sort of mood to hear it. Thanks to all who responded

  • Hey – so as the music snob – I need to request that you remove No Doubt after Oi! to the World — it’s not bad, but it was originally done by The Vandals and it’s much, much better. Other faves – there’s a killer version of Carol of the Bells blaring out of Saks 5th Ave. this year – I need to find out who does it, but don’t think I’ve ever heard it before. Also love Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want to Fight Tonight) by T+he Ramones (see vid on my page). And O Come, O Come Emmanuel by Belle and Sebastian, Fairytail of New York by the Pogues, ‘Zat You Santa Clause by Louie Armstrong, Thanks for Christmas by the Three Wisemen (aka XTC), Feliz Navi-Nada by El-Vez and Whirling Dervishes version of You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch. I also love most of the classics, but I could go on forever.

    Merry Christmas!

  • Corinne

does wham classify as george michael? last christmas…great song…how bout some good ‘ol vince vance all i want for christmas is you or is it poo? also any song bon jovi does is awesome…never gets old…tis the season!!!!!!!

  • haha, yo, I have that “Merry Kissmas” t-shirt also…..I’m glad to know that I’m not the only loser that bought into Gene and Paul’s typical quest for more money. You gotta know that “Christmas In Hollis” by Run-DMC is my favorite Christmas song ever, considering how big of a Run-DMC fan I am. I just read a new book about them, it is so well-researched and a quick, easy read. Oh, and the soundtrack to the movie “Elf” is phenomenal…it’s all jazzed-out and jazz is my shit yo.
